Heritage / Story
Created by Unsen, an artist dedicated to preserving and advancing the highest traditions of Japanese porcelain craftsmanship.
Inspired by the aesthetic of Ko-Sometsuke (Old Blue-and-White Porcelain), the decoration features abstract treasure motifs painted both inside and outside the plate. The floral rim is accented with iron-brush detailing, adding definition and visual balance to the composition.
Particularly remarkable are the subtle tonal variations that occur where the blue decoration crosses the plate's contours. These natural changes in density soften the appearance of porcelain and introduce a handcrafted character often associated with stoneware.
Even the foot ring is meticulously carved, reflecting the uncompromising attention to detail found throughout the piece.
